Foods! Vitamin Cottage is usually much more reasonably priced than
Whole Paycheck!

really helps to remind us of what we have to be thankful for, and also
that humility shows strength of character not weakness. Great Job!

CC- Good article! So many people have no idea
what they do with their money. Unfortunately, it seems as though most
people look only at their cash flow and not their net worth. If people
examined the latter, individuals wouldn't have nearly the money
troubles that we're seeing today.

Jesse - Hi Marilyn. My co- worker said
that her spouse works in the hospital. She said we all need to also
wash our hands more often, because there is a bad, bad bug going to hit
the land.I also had a dream about the same thing.

and 91 years old. They have a thick book of memories.Margie had to go to
her moms house because her mom's leg was hurting. Margie took her to
the doctor's. She is o.k. They have been a real blessing to my family.

When making spaghetti sauce make a huge batch (I make an 18 qt pot at a
time). It's time consuming so why not just do it a few time a
year? You'll have homemade sauce anytime you need it and save money by
making your own. Make your sauce, refrigerate overnight, bag in
recloseable bags into dinner size portions or better yet use vacuum
bags, lay flat and freeze. When frozen, line them up on edge to save
room in the freezer. If you need sauce but not an entire bag, just let
thaw about 20-30 minutes then smack on counter or cut in half with a
knife, bag and refreeze...simple! The sauce can be used for
spaghetti,macaroni,eggplant Parmesan,or mix sauce,bread crumbs,burger
and leftover rice then stuff bell peppers or cabbage rolls!

Buy spices in bulk as they are much cheaper. You can purchase a half
pound to several pounds then divide them up with friends and family.
Pour what you'll use within a few months into jars then freeze the
rest. They'll keep for a couple of years or longer if you use a Food
Saver vacuum packer.

Here's a money saver for cheeses like cheddar and Parmesan etc. Buy a
large block of cheese, shred and put in large reclosable bag, add 1
tablespoon of flour, shake well, freeze. When you need it just take it
out of the freezer, smack on counter to loosen, use what you need then
place back in freezer. The flour makes it separate easily and you don't
use as much because it's not clumping together.

Nia - budget decorating examiner- These
are brilliant ideas. As a renter with bizarrely textured walls, I never
get to use paint as a decorating option, but if I move and do get the
choice, I will definitely check the returns and landfills! Thanks!

Casey- I've been wanting to grow a
garden. In our little concrete patio, it would have to be something
like the Square Foot Garden method, but I still want to do it. But I'm
afraid of killing all my lovely plants!!
Interesting thoughts about the waste and leftover food from restaurants
and stores.

Casey - Nice article! Welcome to the
online world. :)
I actually just went to Costco this weekend, and I went with a friend,
which was PERFECT! We are both married with no kids, so we definitely
cannot eat 15 lbs of potatoes or a whole box of oranges. But we split
everything in half and it was a great deal. I've been wanting to get a
freezer - its great to buy frozen wild fish, or certain veggies,
because then they don't go bad while you procrastinate like I do.
Looking forward to your next column!
