I will post any helpful household tips here:
  • Cut your dryer sheets in fourths they will last you four times longer!  A little goes a long way!
  • Use baking soda instead of cleanser to scrub the stove, sink, counters, tub, etc. it is not harmful like cleanser.
  • Use vinegar to clean the house instead of 409, it is not harmful and will clean very well.
  • Use lavender oil to clean the house, a few drops in hot water will clean and disinfect almost anything.
  • Use tea tree oil for burns, wounds, mouth sores, toothache, it works wonders!
  • Make your own baby food it is less expensive.
  • Make your own yogurt, you'll save money!
  • Make your own granola, it is tastier too!  (See recipes)
  • Grow your own herbs and plant a vegetable garden you'll save big bucks!
  • Use tennis balls in the dryer to avoid dryer sheets.
  • Use liquid dishwasher detergent to bleach the sink with about 1/2 inch of water, let it soak for 20 minutes
  • Put your kitchen sponge in the microwave for 1 minute to disinfect.
  • Build your own website with Office Live, you'll save tons of money and it's user friendly.
  • Use Picasa by Google for your photos, it is user friendly too!
  • Use Vista Print for all of your business cards, they are free, you only pay for shipping.
  • Use Blurb.com to self publish, it is free to download Booksmart
  • Cancel your cell phone account and get a pay as you go account instead (if you don't have to pay the ugly disconnection fee, for a large money saver.
  •  Quit Smoking! you'll save big bucks.
  • Prevention is worth a pound of cure, exercise for better health, something I plan to implement now.
  • Don't hesitate to ask the Dr. about everything he prescribes, understand your treatment!
  •  Understand what you are taking and the risks involved first!
  • Use clean pantyhose to store, plastic grocery bags, onions, potatoes, other pantyhose, anything else.
  • Save old bar soaps and grate them into a pretty bowl for re-use at the bathroom sink
  • Save old bar soaps in a 6" piece of panty hose and tie in a knot at both ends use as a bar of soap to finish it off.
  • Do your own do it yourself jobs around the house, take a class at Home Depot
  • Learn to garden!
  • Learn to cook!
  • Learn to sew!
  • Learn to can!  Call your County Extension Office for help.
  • Be humble, go to the Food Bank if you need to.
  • Be humble, apply for Food Stamps if you need to.
  • Be humble, take a lower paying job, if you need to.
